Texas de Brazil Partners with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Texas de Brazil is well-known for its authentic traditional Brazilian churrasco dining experience. They have been serving guests for over 20 years with Brazilian gauchos (cowboys) serving slow-roasted meats table side. As they have grown, they have embraced the opportunity to be involved in the community.

To that end, Texas de Brazil has once again partnered with St. Jude’s to help raise money for the hospital. During the month of August, for every $5 donated, guests at Texas de Brazil will receive a $5 certificate to use on an upcoming visit. On Mondays, guests will receive $10 in certificates to use later for every $5 donated and furthermore, Texas de Brazil will match donations up to $25,000! How awesome is that?!

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was founded by Danny Thomas. According to their website, “Founder and entertainer Danny Thomas opened the doors to St. Jude in 1962 with the dream that ‘no child should die in the dawn of life.’” St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has worked for more than 50 years finding cures and saving children’s lives. “Our groundbreaking research has helped push the survival rate for childhood cancer from 20 percent in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.” Their mission statement is: To advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.

While we may all not be able to write a $25,000 check, we can all help by donating something. Every single dollar helps. It is through these donations and the support of many others that the families that come to St. Jude’s for treatment never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food from the hospital.
