Sure, a worn-out T-shirt from 2007 and your favorite pair of Nike shorts are perfectly fine to wear to the gym – but sometimes it’s nice to dress up a little. New clothes will make you look good and feel more confident while you’re sweating in barre class. Workout in style with a few trendy pieces available in the Corridor!
“Nothing makes you more enthusiastic about hitting the gym than having comfortable, cute workout clothes,” said Holly Quartaro, fashion stylist at Galleria Dallas. “Lululemon is a no-brainer for this. Their design team has many chic, stylish looks. Also, I love the Zella brand at Nordstrom because they wear really well and have beautiful colors and construction. Finally, GapFit has great workout wear at a very reasonable price.”
Stay simple with black leggings (which Quartaro claims “you can’t go wrong with”!), or turn it up a notch with something more colorful, like the purple ombre leggings ($98 at Lululemon). These gorgeous high-rise leggings keep in your waist, while the ultra-soft material will make these your new favorites – for running or brunching.
“High-waisted leggings are a really big trend right now, which is great because the compression keeps your shape while you work out,” explained Quartaro. “There is so much workout gear that is stylish enough to transition to running errands, particularly paired with a stylish topper.”
Sports bras can also double as cute tops, especially when you throw on a chic jacket after you leave the gym. The Zella Seamless Sports Bra (just $31.90 at Nordstrom right now) is an adorable crop top, with all the support of a regular sports bra. The deep red, ribbed fabric, stretchy design and back cut-outs will make you stand out. Or, go for the GapFit Sculpt Revolution High Support Sports Bra ($29.99 at Gap), which has thick straps, compression panels and moisture wicking fabric to give you support and cool you down at the same time. The pretty blue, floral pattern makes it pretty enough to wear underneath a light jacket or thin tank top while running errands.
Finally, go straight from lifting weights to responding to emails with an outfit that is so unlike athleisure, you won’t even realize it’s made for working out. We love these olive green On the Right Track Pants from Lululemon ($89), which is a cool olive green with a soft, flowy material. Pair these with a nice black or white blouse. Just switch your shoes from sneakers to flats and you’re ready to go!
Even if you skip the sweat session altogether and just wear these new clothes around town – we won’t tell! – you will love having these new pants and sports bras to workout in this summer.
