Blame it on my August birthday, the Texas heat or the fact that The Little Mermaid played on repeat in my house growing up, but I have always loved swimming. Nothing compares to the refreshingly cool feeling of being totally surrounded by water. But before you can experience this bliss, you have to find a swimsuit! Keep reading for some of my favorite styles, available in the Corridor.
Triangle-cut bikinis are so 2018. Switch it up this year with a one-shoulder top! The CHELSEA28 Scallop One-Shoulder Bikini Top ($49 from Nordstrom) is stunning. We love this chic pink metallic bikini with one shoulder and a scalloped edge over the bust. Added bonus: the shimmery pink color will make you look extra tan!
Feeling sexy? For a look that is more lingerie than swimwear, choose a suit with lace. The Becca Show & Tell One-Piece Swimsuit ($118 from Nordstrom) is gorgeous. The all-white swimsuit is made with scalloped lace, with strategic nude fabric underneath sensitive areas. Whether you want to save this one for your own private pool or rock it at the beach, you do you, girl!
For the weirdest tan lines and most unique swimsuits, choose anything with cut outs. Everything But Water inside The Shops at Willow Bend has many options, like this sleek black-and-white Kylie Over the Shoulder Cut-Out One-Piece Swimsuit ($180), which is high waisted with a large circular cut-out on your stomach. For added fun, the bottom and one side of the bust is black, with the other side of the bust white.
A less dramatic option is the Ursa Cut-Out Plunge One-Piece Swimsuit ($345). This swimsuit is a strawberry pink color, with slight cut outs right below the bust. The ribbed fabric and V-neck gives it an added flair.
If your girls are your best feature, show them off with a suit with a plunging neckline. The key is to make sure the rest of the suit isn’t too revealing (this is a community pool, after all, not your honeymoon). We love Revel Rey’s Emery Striped Open-Back One-Piece ($189 from Neiman Marcus). This black-and-white striped suit features a to-the-navel neckline, with wide straps from your neck to your shoulder. Pro tip: slip on a pair of denim shorts and you have a perfect summer outfit.
Looking for something a little more conservative? That’s fine too! Soma inside Village on the Parkway offers many options for disguising problem areas. Look hot with this fire engine-red Miraclesuit Rock Solid Wrapsody One-Piece Swimsuit ($170), which has a diagonal pattern to minimize stomach and hips, and built-in foam cups for extra bust support.
Another option is this swimsuit/cover-up combo – the Magicsuit Skinny Jeans Bianco One-Piece Romper ($182). This pretty dark blue suit looks like a cute romper, but is made with a stretchy, water-safe swimsuit material. It’s the perfect option for days lounging at the pool, then eating a picnic lunch, or for going from beach to restaurant while on vacation.
