Texas Smartscape Class: Water Efficient Landscape Design, June 24

Nothing beats a freshly mown lawn – except a beautifully landscaped yard. Learn how to make your lawn your own personal oasis at the free Texas Smartscape Class: Water Efficient Landscape Design from 6-8 p.m. June 24 at the Surveyor Water Tower, located at 4000 Arapaho Road in Addison.

At this event, you can learn basic design principles, plant placement and new landscape trends to help you do it yourself. According to its website, this class will help you “transform your landscape into a beautiful low maintenance, water efficient landscape.”

Create your dream yard using the ULandscapeIt tool, an online tool that helps you plan your own water efficient outdoor space. ULandscapeIt is a webpage from Water University, which offers you free blueprints to help you with your design. Different layouts include list of plant options and arrangements that are recommended for successful growth and minimal work.

You can search for plant and flower options based on the time of year it blooms, how much light it needs, water requirements, bloom color and more.
