But First, Coffee and Breakfast

For a lot of us, coffee is an essential part of the start of the day. Martha of Miami says, “But first Cafecito” (But First, Coffee) and I live by that phrase. I have to have my coffee before I can really dive into the day. Coffee just gives me that joyful feeling like no matter what happens, it’s all going to be ok. Now take that feeling and pair it with one of the delicious dishes from one of the many restaurants in Addison and life is complete. Get your day started right with Pineapple Upside Down pancakes and some of the finest Guatemalan coffee you will ever taste. Or breakfast migas, steak and eggs and so much more. Let’s talk coffee and breakfast!

Let’s start at Snooze. If you are a first timer, let me recommend the Pancake Flight. Choose any three pancakes flavors from the menu and enjoy. Pick from Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes, Sweet Potato, Chocolate Chip and a lot more! Snooze has partnered with the Godoy family in Guatemala and they have created a special blend which is exclusive to Snooze. www.snoozeeatery.com

Norma’s Café on Trinity Mills and Dallas Pkwy has been serving breakfast for quite a while. They have everything from an 8-ounce Ribeye steak with eggs and a giant cinnamon roll to my favorite, their Migas. Made with scrambled eggs with tortilla chips, fresh jalapeños, tomato and onions, Jack and cheddar cheese and served with two flour tortillas and freshly made salsa. We’ve been coming to Norma’s for years and one of our favorite things besides the food is their coffee. Always fresh and they always keep your mug filled. www.normascafe.com

As a person who loves to eat and loves to find the best local food, Pete’s Café on Belt Line just west of Marsh Ln is one of those local places that make you feel like you are part of the family. I love coming here to just drink coffee and catch up with friends. I’ve actually done quite a few interviews over coffee and their Pete’s Special or Western Omelet. You can’t go wrong with the breakfast tacos or Belgian Waffles either.

Of course, we can’t leave out Dunn Brothers Coffee. They serve a variety of amazing coffees from all over the world which they roast in-store every day and you can also build your own breakfast sandwich. “Starting with our hand-cracked egg soufflé and cheese, choose your combination of bread and protein to build the perfect breakfast sandwich for any time of day.” Pick your grain from a biscuit, burrito wrap, English muffin, bagel, croissant or gluten-free English muffin. Finally, choose your protein like sausage, bacon, turkey bacon, ham, chorizo or a black bean patty. www.dunnbrothers.com
