When it comes to fashion, men are often an afterthought. That’s partly because they are fine with wearing a standard black suit to work and gym shorts and old T-shirts on their days off, and partly because there just aren’t many options for trendy stores focused on men (their clothes are usually found in a tiny corner in the back). That’s where Sebastian’s Closet comes in. Tucked in a sea of dining options at Village on the Parkway is this gem that has been hiding in plain sight. It’s a high-end men’s clothing boutique that has been serving the wardrobes and needs of its followers for the last 40 years. There’s no other way to describe it: the clothes at Sebastian’s Closet are simply better than anywhere else.
“Three words: curation, passion, knowledge,” said Tim Leamy, owner of Sebastian’s Closet, when asked what makes his store different from big-name department stores. “The boutique nature of Sebastian’s allows us to research endless clothing resources and strategically curate the presentation that we believe will excite and separate us and our patrons. Our team is passionate about serving our clients with extensive knowledge of our industry, our products and the needs and wants of our patrons. We are committed to being your wardrobe concierge – helping you look your best and making it effortless for you.”
Leamy loves his job because he created a shopping environment that is “welcoming, interesting and unexpected,” according to him. “When our client receives a compliment, we have done our task well.” And it’s likely that his clients will be complimented on their looks – Sebastian’s Closet offers an ever-changing selection of fresh new offerings from work to play. When you shop here, you will be greeted with personal, sincere service, whether you are building and enhancing your wardrobe or simply finding the perfect item for an upcoming event.
One of Leamy’s most important jobs is to stay up-to-date on the current fashions, and help the average man pull them off. He shared a few important trends with us for this season: tailored suits and sport coats are prevalent, especially the double breasted jackets. As for fabrics, he recommends soft and drapey, jersey fabrics, solids, strips, trim and relaxed. Additionally, Leamy recommends wearing the double breasted jackets unbuttoned with knit shirts underneath rather than neckwear.
Another hot item? The all white suit! Also, light-washed jeans, patterned pants, cropped pants and shorts of every type (especially shorter shorts) and multicultural/bohemian influences in fabrics are super popular right now. And prints are continuing to be important, especially the bright, bold and often mismatched-to-the-point-of-clashing patterns.
As far as colors are concerned, Leamy explained that tie-dye and neon are back, as well as graphic prints, but the most important color influence is the green family – especially sage. Accessories popular right now include sandals, sneakers, men’s bags, bucket hats and utility vests.
Still feeling overwhelmed? Don’t worry. Leamy and the rest of the team at Sebastian’s Closet will take care of you from the second you walk in the door, helping you choose the best looks for you. All you have to do is show up and get ready to look like the most stylish version of yourself!
