Live Music During Valentine’s Week

If you are looking for Valentine’s weekend date ideas, have we got something for you! While dinner dates remain at the top of the list, how about adding a little musical entertainment to the evening and making it even more memorable? Jazz, salsa, swing, flamenco and so much more. Addison and the Corridor have lots to offer when it comes to music and entertainment and with it being a special weekend, there is, even more, to choose from.

 

Come out to Gloria’s Night Life at Gloria’s Latin Cuisine on the Village on the Parkway and dance the night away both Friday and Saturday nights. Dress to impress and come out to hear the hottest salsa music in the city with Havana NRG and DJ Ivan G. Salsa nights begin at 10 p.m. and end at 2 a.m. on both nights. Soho Food & Jazz has a full schedule with great artists coming up. On Wednesday, Feb. 13 Ron Jones will be on stage with his sax. For Valentine’s Day, Jennifer Martin will be performing live from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. There will also be live piano music from 5:30 to 7 p.m. On Friday, come out and hear Luqman Rashada from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the John Adams Jazz Trio from 8 p.m. to midnight. Saturday night will feature Michael K. on classical guitar from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the Will St. Peter Jazz Trio from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tiffany Cassius y Dos Hombres will be performing at Mercy Wine Bar Thursday, Feb. 14. Featuring a blend of flamenco, pop, rock, and lite jazz with incredible vocals they will be performing from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. On Friday, JJMAX will be onstage performing live. To give you an idea of what you are in for, his bio describes him saying, “Maxwell’s song style combines favorite elements of Maroon 5, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Jamiroquai, Elvis Presley and the jazz influences of Frank Sinatra.” Mercy Wine Bar’s set up is great for a date night. At Table 13, the week is filled with their Valentine’s Day celebration featuring a prix fixe menu and lots of entertainment. Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Goga Denisov takes the stage at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Henry Muñoz will be performing at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Marc Toussaint will be performing at 6:30 p.m. Finally, Saturday, Feb. 16, 5 p.m. to -11 p.m. Marc Toussaint is back to delight guests with his music starting at 6:30 p.m.

 

Aside from the incredible menu at The Kitchen Café provides great musical entertainment. One of those musical entertainers is their very own, Tony Hakim. Tony and his band will be performing Thursday, Feb. 14 and Friday, Feb. 15. Tony Hakim has been part of the jazz scene for over 25 years both as a solo artist as well as part of a band. Arthur’s Steakhouse will have Russ Warman performing on guitar Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Also performing on these dates is the band The Ones. Wednesday and Thursday they take the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Arthur’s Bar area is open from noon to 2 a.m. and offers a variety of aged scotches, specialty liquors, cognacs, martinis, wines, and specialty cocktails.
