Silk Tops

What’s cool, sexy and incredible versatile? Silk tops! This luxurious material is back this year, and we couldn’t be happier. Go for something feminine and flattering, like this Eileen Fisher pink silk shirt from Neiman Marcus. It is a long button-down, which would look great over leggings or fitted trousers, and features elbow sleeves and a notched collar. For a professional setting, we like the Cinq a Sept blazer in an icy blue, made with side welt pockets, ruched sleeves and buttons cuffs that tie the look together. Wear over a dress or slacks to brighten up your work attire.

Pastels and Bright Colors

The colors of spring will carry on throughout the year, as runways are lightening up with clothes in beautiful pastels and bright colors. You’ll feel like a nautical queen in this gorgeous blue-and-white striped shirt dress with a front tie from Nordstrom, which is good for running errands, drinks with friends or the office. For a party, you can’t go wrong with this Alice + Olivia dress from Neiman Marcus. It has a simple white halter top on top, with a fiesta-inspired red, purple, peach, blue and yellow ruffle-tiered skirt on bottom. Of course, this pastel trend also works on pants, like these pale rose cargo pants from J. Crew that were practically made to be Instagrammed.

Ripped-Hem Jeans

Another thing you won’t be able to get enough of this year are ripped-hem jeans, which draw your attention to your fresh pedicure and sandals in the summer or your favorite booties in the winter. Go vintage with these wide-leg jeans from J. Crew, featuring a chewed hemline that hits right above the ankles. Or choose a more fitted denim, like these medium-wash jeans from J. Crew that have a ripped, asymmetrical hemline.

Woven Purses

Perfect for an island getaway – or everyday at home – are woven purses, which will be everywhere in 2019. The Sensi Studio tote bag at Neiman Marcus includes a pattern of mini beads in rainbow colors, with trendy circle handles on top. The Kooreloo purse is made with woven cotton in various shades of blue and features a flat top closure with a fringe trim and an option between a flat handle or a chain crossbody strap. This is a unique, casual tote bag that will look good with any weekend outfit. Finally, the Eugenia Kim tote bag is sure to turn heads, as it looks like an upside-down straw hat with black top handles. The bottom of the woven bag has a beautiful light pink bow, giving it a wonderful feminine touch.

Men’s Styles

Men’s fashion trends don’t change as drastically as women’s, but there are a few styles to look for. Pastels are in for men as well, like this soft cotton button-down shirt from J. Crew that comes in light pink, glacier blue and beige among other colors. For jackets, go for bold and patterned, such as the Isaia blue-and-white striped jacket available at Neiman Marcus, which looks sharp against white or khaki pants. Lastly, when dressing for a casual night out, replace your tight, skinny jeans with a looser, straight-cut style. Every guy will be wearing jeans like these classic Levi’s jeans from Nordstrom in a dark wash, as they can be dressed up or down and look good with anything.
