Over the years, Addison’s very own Daseke, Inc. has garnered the title of largest flatbed and specialized company in North America. With over 5,000 tractors and 11,000 specialized trailers, it’s a company that serves customers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. But this month, the business took their service to new heights with the announcement of Daseke Fleet Services.
“Effective May 14, Daseke Fleet Services will focus on supporting the Daseke family of operation companies through lifecycle management of revenue equipment – including maximization of national purchasing power, enhanced maintenance programs, strategic disposition of assets, and high-level warranty management,” reads a recent press release on the topic.
This concept, coupled with the business’ fortitude, is what attracted three veteran executives – Brett Thompson, vice president of purchasing, Erek Starnes, vice president of equipment operations, and Gloria Pliler, director of purchasing. These welcomed and revered team members bring over 30 years of experience to the table, undoubtedly contributing to the company’s long-term goals and future success.
“The creation of Daseke Fleet Services is a significant milestone for Daseke, as we have reached a scale where we can improve our cost efficiencies in ways that support both our operating companies and our overall organic growth,” explains company president Scott Wheeler in the aforementioned press release. “We’re especially pleased that three of the trucking industry’s top equipment and maintenance executives from one of the industry’s leading trucking companies have joined us to make Daseke Fleet Services a reality – another indication that our philosophy of investing in people is working.”
We’re excited to see how, alongside existing company director of procurement Ken Snyder, these three executives will promote Daseke’s mission and ensure they remain the leading consolidator of the highly fragmented $133 billion flatbed and specialized freight market in North America.
