One of my favorite quotes about food goes something like this, “Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it does buy tacos, and I’ve never seen anyone sad or crying while eating tacos.” Isn’t that the truth? Chances are you know someone claiming the #tacolife or you might even be that person. Tacos are one of the most versatile foods around; from the countless types of meats you can get on a taco, to the toppings, tortillas, salsas and styles, the taco is simply amazing! So where to get tacos in Addison and the North Dallas Corridor? Check out our short list.
La Ventana
Taqueria La Ventana is a hip, fast-casual taqueria making delicious authentic Mexico City street food, more specifically, tacos. Choose from Calabacitas (Veggies), barbacoa, camarón (shrimp), chicken, pastor and suadero (marinated beef); just to name a few! The tortillas and salsas are also handmade every day in the restaurant. Check out their website for the complete menu.
Cinco Tacos
The name says it all, Cinco Tacos offers classic, authentic and modern Mexican cuisine. At Cinco Tacos expect to find some very different flavors, stuff you may not have tasted before in a taco, but I promise you it’s going to be very good. Try the Cochinita Pibil Tacos, slowed cooked pork, marinated in achiote and vinegar and served with pickled red onions and habaneros; or the Diego Rivera Tacos, diced grilled fajita steak, planchada quesadilla, grilled poblanos, grilled cactus leaves, grilled pineapple and grilled white onions. Visit the Cinco Tacos website for the full menu.
Zuzu
At Zuzu’s you can choose from steak with roasted onions and peppers, chicken with pico de gallo and cilantro, brisket, shrimp with mango salsa and creamy chipotle sauce or fish with coleslaw and creamy chipotle sauce just to name a few! They are all made fresh right in their open kitchen where you can watch them make your food. Follow them on Facebook for all the latest promotions as well as some pretty hilarious taco memes.
Los Lupes
Los Lupes serves a great variety of delicious Mexican food, but my go to dish here is Brisket Tacos plate. The plate comes with three tacos filled with their slow-cooked shredded brisket, Mexican style rice, black beans and avocado slices along with their special brisket sauce on the side. Grab the avocado slices and put them inside the taco and simply enjoy. Check out their website for the full menu.
