With an impressive release of holiday-season blockbusters, the movie industry is gearing up for a busy and exciting year. With nearly 200 movies set to be released in 2014, moviegoers are sure to be intrigued, delighted and satisfied with these creations.

The Monuments of Men; Friday, Feb. 7
Thought to be a late-2013 Oscar nominee, this drama action film wasn’t ready for a 2013 release. This George Clooney-directed film is based on a true story of a World War II platoon who are tasked to recover Nazi-stolen artworks to their owners. With a high-profile cast, including Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett and Jean Dujardin, you know you’re in for a great story.
The Grand Budapest Hotel; Friday, March 7
Wes Anderson fans will jump for joy when the writer-director’s newest film hits theaters in March. This quirky film tells the story about a friendship between a woman-loving concierge (Ralph Fiennes) and a young lobby boy (newcomer Tony Revolori). Expect appearances by frequent Anderson players, such as, Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton and Jason Schwartzman.
Need for Speed; Friday, March 14
All of the Breaking Bad fans can rejoice because Aaron Paul will hit the big screen this March. Based on the popular video game, this high-energy film sees Paul as a racer who was framed and imprisoned and is now seeking revenge.
X-Men: Days of Future Past; Friday, May 9
Hailed as one of Fandango fan picks’ most anticipated movies, this time traveling, action, adventure film sees Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) travel to the past in order to prevent a future devastating event. This new installment stars previous X-Men players, such as Ian McKellen, Halle Berry and Patrick Stewart, and adds Jennifer Lawrence and Evan Peters.
The Giver; Friday, August 15
An adaptation of the beloved sci-fi Lois Lowry novel, this drama fantasy stars Jeff Bridges as “The Giver” who teaches a young, naïve teenager (Brenton Thwaites) the meaning of life in the real world. Also stars: Meryl Streep, Alexander Skarsgard, Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1; Friday, Nov. 21
Voted as the No. 1 most anticipated movie of 2014 by Fandango fans, this third installment is the second to last of The Hunger Games film series. Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence will grace the screen as rebel icon Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson returns as partner Peeta Mellark.
