Grab the kiddos and join Operation Kindness as they present “Pet Adoption Days at Galleria Dallas.” The 17-day event will kick off at 10 a.m. on August 9.
Interact with dogs and cats looking for forever homes at the Operation Kindness structure on Level 1 near Banana Republic. Shoppers can also visit the Operation Kindness structure to learn about volunteer opportunities.
If your family meets the perfect little pet, you can adopt him or her right on the spot. Adoption fees vary, depending on the type and age of animal.
Cats can be adopted for $110; kittens for $135; dogs for $160; and puppies for $185.
It’s important to note that adoption fees are essential for covering the cost of care for the animals at Operation Kindness. Tests, vaccinations, microchipping, medical procedures and spay or neuter surgery are just some of the operations covered by these fees. Operation Kindness spends more than $270 for each animal in its care, according to the organization’s website.
Operation Kindness, which has been helping animals in our area for 37 years, is the “oldest and largest no-kill shelter in North Texas.” The organization’s mission is to treat and shelter homeless cats and dogs in a no-kill location until every single animal is adopted into a reliable home, and to support humane values and behavior.
Operation Kindness has saved more than 75,000 animals since 1976 and cares for more than 3,000 dogs and cats on a yearly basis.
“Pet Adoption Days at Galleria Dallas” will run through August 25. Hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 12 p.m. (noon) to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
